Australia induct Krejza for first Test against SA

Australia has inducted young off-spinner Jason Krejza for first Test against South Africa in Perth.

Australia has inducted young off-spinner Jason Krejza and named all-rounder Shane Watson as the 12th man for first Test against South Africa, which is starting on Wednesday at the WACA.

Shane Watson will be 12th man, meaning Krejza will play the game. We think it’s going to be a pretty good wicket to bat on as the game goes on and someone, who can take pace off the ball and do a good job with his finger spin, will come in handy for us,” Australia skipper Ricky Ponting was quoted by the Australian Associated Press (AAP) in Melbourne.

Krejza missed out the first Test against New Zealand last month where Watson played. Meanwhile, spinner Nathan Hauritz was included for the second Test in Adelaide ahead of Watson, as a late replacement for Krejza in the 12-man squad after the Tasmanian off-spinner injured his ankle at training in the days leading up to the match.

Paceman Peter Siddle, who made his Test debut during Australia’s tour of India in October, will play his first match at home. Siddle comes into the side for pacer Stuart Clark, who had a successful elbow surgery in Sydney.
