Defending champions Australia lost to minnows Zimbabwe by seven wickets. For the winners right-arm fast bowler Tinashe Panyangara took 6/31 as Australia, electing to bat first, were dismissed for just 73 runs for their lowest ever total in the under-19 World Cup. Zimbabwe wrapped up the match before lunch cruising to a total of 75/3 in 18 overs.

Nepal’s Himalayan feat: Down South Africa

Nepal defeated South Africa, who opting to bat first, were bowled out for 156 in 50 overs. Lower-order batsman Keegan Africa’s knock of 52 off 62 balls one of the few highlights for South Africa. Captain Shakti Gauchan hit 51 as Nepal dug in to reach a winning total of 158-9 with two balls to spare.

But no hiccups for West Indies

But there were no problems for the West Indies, who won by 152 runs against Papua New Guinea. Tishan Maraj (117) and Lendl Simmons (107) hit centuries to guide West Indies to 371 for three. Papua New Guinea were bowled out for 219 in 44.2 overs.
