GUWAHATI, JULY 14: The overall flood situation in Assam remained grim on Friday with fresh inundation of many areas in Dhemaji and Sonitpur districts as the death toll mounted to 14, official sources said here.In Dhemaji, which is reeling under the impact of floods for the last two months, road and rail communication remained disrupted in the district for more than a month with flood waters overtopping National highways and railway tracks, the sources said.The situation in Sonitpur district took a turn for the worse today with river Jiabhoroli changing its course at Greater Panchali area near Tezpur. More than one lakh people have been affected in the district.
