PANCHKULA, August 1: Arun Sharma (83 and 2 for 15) and M S Sodhi (5 for 18) fashioned Food Corporation of India’s convicning 120-run win over Punjab Financial Corporation in the Inter Government/Financial Insititutions cricket tournament here at the Sector 5 Cricket Ground today.
Arun Sharma received good support from Kamal Thakur (41) as FCI rattled up an imposing total of 183 for 4 in the allotted 25 overs. In reply, PFC crumbled in the face of accurate left-arm spin bowling by M S Sodhi. Arun Sharma complete a fine all-round day, chipping in with two wickets.
In the other match, Oriental Insurance Company trounced United India Assurance by eight wickets. Dinesh. Gupta’s unbeaten 37 saw OIC chase UIA’s meagre total of 94 for 9 without any major hiccups.
