Delhi, dec 5: The aRMY has turned to Sri Aurobindo Ashram to help impart its soldiers psychological and spiritual training which, it is felt, will boost their motivation levels. The Army Training Command (ARTRAC) at Shimla and the Pondicherry-based Ashram recently held a workshop on leadership and motivation at the College of Combat in Mhow, MP. This was the fifth workshop held by the two institutions since last year, in which 130 officers have been trained.

The latest workshop was conducted by a teacher of political science at Aurobindo Ashram along with two retired Army generals, who are now working with the centre. Brigadiers, Colonels, Majors and Captains participated in the programme. The central theme of the three-day workshop was: “Only he who can lead himself well can lead others better.” Other themes included “Utility and Dangers of Egoism in the Armed Forces” and “What is Body Consciousness”, and were meant to stimulate introspection.
