The Army today was silent on reports that fragments of a missile, used in a military exercise, fell on a village in south Rajasthan’s Barmer district, sparking panic among the residents.

A report on the incident reached the state police headquarters in Jaipur today.

No one was, however, hurt in the incident.

The police said a portion of the missile, apparently burnt out in air, fell in an open space in Khojraj Ki Dhani vilage. The debris spread over a 200 sq km area.
