Trucks carrying armymen moved very close to the place where Kirori Singh Bhainsla, spearheading the Gujjars agitation for ST status, is camping on a rail track along with his supporters.
Eight trucks carrying the army personnel stopped near Samogar bridge on a river, which is about 1.5km from Karwadi.
The armymen were joined by personnel of Rapid Action Force and Rajasthan Special Task Force.
The army, RAF and STF men have already been deployed in Bayana where the present round of violent agitation by Gujjars began two days ago resulting in police firing and clashes which claimed 16 lives.
The armymen moved near Karwadi after a meeting Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had with senior officials in Jaipur earlier this evening to chalk out course of action to deal with the Gujjars’ agitation.
Earlier in the day, Raje warned of stern action against violence by Gujjars and alleged goonda elements had infiltrated into ranks of agitating members of the community.
Telecommunication networks in the area stopped working late in Sunday night with the army activating mobile jammers ahead of an operation to break the agitation and arrest Bhainsla.
