NEW DELHI, April 19: The Capital’s intelligentsia has appealed to the Tibetans, who have been on strike for the past five weeks, to give up the fast and explore other ways to support their cause.
It was pointed out that the Tibetans had succeeded in drawing the attention of the international community and United Nations to the conditions in Tibet and the need for timely action.
The signatories to the appeal include Ravindra Verma, chairman of the Gandhi Peace Foundation.
