A Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) leader allegedly shot dead his nephew over a family feud on Saturday. Sarvesh Pal, pradhan of Gadera village, and three of his accomplices who allegedly shot dead Raju Pal, were absconding while one of the assailants had been arrested, police said.

Superintendent of Police, Rural, Lal Bahadur said that the accused Sarvesh was involved in a dispute over the family business with his nephew Raju, 25. “Last night, there was a minor scuffle between the two,” he said.

The incident took an ugly turn on Saturday when Sarvesh, 40, alongwith four accomplices allegedly shot at Raju, killing him on the spot, the SP said.

The victim’s uncle Yogesh Pal and locals claimed that Sarvesh was an active member of the ruling BSP but the police said that his political affiliation was yet to be confirmed.
