The CPI(M) Politburo on Sunday condemned the two blasts that ripped through Hyderabad on Saturday evening claiming 44 lives. “This horrific attack underlines how certain terrorist groups are working closely to disrupt normal life and communal harmony. The culprits responsible for this outrage must be caught and brought to book. Since Hyderabad had witnessed a bomb attack in a mosque recently, it is important that the Government and the security agencies identify and take pre-emptive steps to suppress such elements,” the Politburo said in a statement. “The Politburo expresses its heartfelt sympathy for all those who have lost their family members and those who have suffered injuries. The Politburo is confident that the people of Hyderabad, along with the rest of the country, will stand united against such nefarious and inhuman violence,” it said. Q R Iliyas, spokesperson of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board condemned the Hyderabad blasts as the handiwork of people, who are trying to disrupt communal harmony in the country. “It is an attempt to divide the society and create unrest. What is also objectionable is the way police conduct inquiries in such incidents where a particular community is branded even before facts are clear,” he said. If the culprits of the earlier blasts in Hyderabad were brought to book, this one could have been avoided, he added. A spokesperson of the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind said the blasts in Hyderabad were an attack on the “social harmony and prosperity” of the historical city. “Such terrorists do not belong to any faith at all,” he said.
