Amarsinh rides bullock cart to Assembly

Followed by some 200 supporters carrying placards, Opposition leader Amarsinh Chaudhary rode a decorated bullock cart from his house to his office in the Assembly premises today to highlight the ‘‘financial mess’’ the state government is in.

Pressing more on his mind, perhaps, was the state’s refusal to replace his official car with a new one for want of funds. The government had arranged a fitting reception for the Congress leader. Reaching his office, Chaudhary addressed a press conference. He said the government was so broke that it had no funds to get him a new car but the CM himself spends lavishly on personal security.
