Controversial senior IAS officer and CEO of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) Arun Kumar was transferred after a three-member high level committee found him guilty of violating the code of conduct.

An official spokesman said the Government considered the report of the Committee and decided to transfer him to the General Administration Department (GAD).

“The Committee in its report submitted to the Government has reached the conclusion that the officer has, prima facie, violated the provisions of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules,” he said.

Azad was under severe pressure from PDP and other coalition partners to take immediate action against Kumar for his statement, which they claimed were “intended to create communal disharmony”.
