Alexander meets Dhanagare factions

KOLHAPUR, March 17: A decision over Shivaji University’s Vice-Chancellor D N Dhanagare will be taken only after studying both sides of the issue, said Chancellor P C Alexander here today.

He spoke to the media after meeting anti and pro Dhanagare delegations, here at the circuit house. Alexander who is on a two-day visit to Sangli and Kolhapur districts arrived here this morning. Most of his time, during an hour when he met number of delegations, was dominated by the issue of Shivaji University.

Dr. Alexander told the newsperons that delegations demanding inquiry against Dhanagare and those supporting him discussed the issue with him. “I will look into the complaints against the Vice Chancellor and order an inquiry if need be,”he said while speaking to the media.

He also stated that certain documents about Dhanagare’s administration had been submitted to him. It will take some time, as I will go through all documents pertaining to specific complaints, he added.
