MUMBAI, JUNE 23: After a disappointing World Cup, Indian medium-pace bowler Ajit Agarkar is likely to spend a few days at the MRF Pace Foundation under Dennis Lillee. Sources close to the bowler said he was to leave for Chennai in the next couple of days.

Reports said Agarkar is likely to make some minor adjustments to his bowling action on the advice of the Australian fast bowling legend. The change, however, is not instigated by Agarkar8217;s poor run in the World Cup; Agarkar had spent a day at the academy last August, and was told he could benefit by altering his part side-on action, according to academy coach TA Sekhar. Agarkar will stay at the academy till June 28, Sekhar said.

Asked for his comments, Pandurang Salgaonkar, a fast bowler who was part of the unofficial India team in the 70s, said Agarkar had been ineffective in England because he had been hitting the deck too hard. Salgaonkar is currently assisting Agarkar8217;s former coach Ramakant Achrekar train Under-16 and Under-19 boys inSawantwadi.
