New Delhi, October 20: Veteran Delhi cricketer Ajay Sharma will most likely be turning out for Himachal Pradesh as a professional in this year’s Ranji Trophy Championships.

The former India and Delhi cricketer today obtained a `no objection’ certificate from the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). Ajay, who has scored a record number of 31 hundreds in Ranji Trophy, is likely to join the Himachal Ranji camp at Una in a couple of days.

Ajay took the decision after he learnt that the DDCA officials/selectors were not keen on keeping him in the state team, with the match-fixing allegation hanging over his head.

“I have a couple of years of cricket left in me. When I am scoring and performing, why should I quit?,” he had said last month, soon after returning from England where he played for minor counties during the summer. He said he had a few options if Delhi decided not to include him in the team this year.
