Chennai, Oct 18: The All-India Anna DMK general secretary, J Jayalalitha, has said it was for the Congress to decide on continuing its alliance with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.As far as she was concerned, her party had a ``good alliance'' with the Congress, she said, during an informal chat with reporters at the party headquarters here on Sunday, on the occasion of the 28th founding day of the AIADMK. ``I do not know why it (the alliance) should not continue in the coming Assembly elections also,'' she said.Stating that the Assembly elections in the state, due in March 2001, were likely to be advanced, Jayalalitha said she had reliable information from government sources that Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi was thinking of advancing the elections, hoping to capitalise on his party's alliance with other parties.``DMK chief M Karunanidhi is flush with `false confidence' after victory in the parliamentary polls,'' she said. The chief minister thought that the BJP, PMK and MDMK were with himand the people would vote for the DMK-led front in the Assembly polls also, she added.Asked what she thought of the stability of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre, she said, ``It is too early to say anything.''Earlier, in a letter to party cadre, she said there was no need for them to feel disheartened over the outcome of Lok Sabha elections in the State as the party had emerged as the single largest party in it.
