CHENNAI, August 6: A programme to involve mentally and physically handicapped children in agro-farming has been launched in Tamil Nadu. The project – Christian Agro Farm for Children – is being run by Pathway, an organisation fonded by A D S N Prasad. Former President R Venkataraman is among those associated with the organisation, and William Sheffield, a former judge of the California Superior Court, and Yazuki Kaku, Consul General of Japan, are among those who have pledged their support to the body. Facilities at the farm will be made available free to some 500 children, and it is expected to be completed in three-four years. The farm is named after Pamella Jannard, who contributed Rs 45 lakh towards expenses for acquiring land.
