Two Agra police officials have been suspended for negligence of duty in Thursday’s truck robbery case which left four people dead.
Agra SSP Ashutosh Pandey said the bodies of the victims were recovered from a canal in Patholi village in Police Station Jagdish Pura area.
He said the four people, who were travelling in the truck from Jaipur to Agra, were waylaid and murdered by robbers who took off
with their belongings and valuables.
The SSP said investigation has revealed the negligence of Station House Officer (SHO) Jagdishpura Arvind Sharma and T.P. Nagar Police Post Incharge Fateh Singh and they have been suspended.
Police are searching the nearby villages for a clue about the robbers who remain unidentified.
Pandey said the deceased have been identified as Agra residents who had just delivered a truckload of salt to a dealer in Rambagh, Agra, and were returning home with the money.
