Melbourne, January 16: Injured medium-pacer Ajit Agarkar will undergo a fitness test ahead of India’s do-or-die one-day cricket tri-series clash against Pakistan at Hobart on January 21.
The lanky seamer suffered a hamstring strain and middle order batsman Jacob Martin hurt his shoulder in the second league encounter against Australia here on January 12. They are likely to be fit for the crucial clash at the Bellerive Oval, a team official said today.
“Martin is much, much better," Dr Mahendra Bhargava, manager of the team, said when contacted on phone in Sydney on Sunday evening. “Agarkar is also a lot better and the physio (Andrew Leipus) says he should be fit for the crucial game,” said Bhargava. The Indian team might have to stay back in Sydney for a day due to an airliner strike.
