NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 16: Home Minister Lal Krishna Advani today finally broke his silence and chose to rebut former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh's allegation that Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was trying to get Advani expelled from the party.Kalyan had lost his balance and was trying to drive a wedge between him and Vajpayee, Advani alleged. ``The entire world knows that the bond of trust that subsists between us (Advani and Vajpayee) is not going to be affected. The party leadership was unanimous in sacking Singh as Chief Minister and his subsequent expulsion from BJP,'' Advani said in a statement issued today.``I strongly condemn Kalyan Singh's remarks as perverse and misleading''. He said Kalyan was targetting the BJP and the Prime minister in particular ever since he was removed as Chief Minister.``But I cannot ignore what he said in Delhi on Wednesday. The manner in which he used my name was mischievous. Kalyan Singh resorted to the same puerile tactic adopted by many other opponents of the BJP, and of the NDA Government, to try and drive a wedge between Vajpayee and me,'' he said.Advani said Kalyan Singh's statements were extremely offensive, and have rightly earned him expulsion from the party. ``His utterances reveal a person who has totally lost his sense of balance, and so I have been disinclined to react to what he has been saying,'' he said.
