Admn to probe molestation charge at Indore school

Eight managing committee members of a girls’ school resigned today while the principal went on leave after parents charged that students were being molested by the drivers of the school bus. The district administration has ordered a probe.

Angry parents stormed the Republic Day function of the Shree Vaishnav Bal Mandir Girls School in Rajmohalla and beat up members of the managing committee, demanding action against the accused.

Parents charged that the girls, aged between 5 and 10, of were being molested on the way to school and back over the past few days. A school trustee claimed that the complaints were not serious.

Two FIRs have been lodged by the parents while another was lodged by a school committee member who was manhandled yesterday. Principal Nanda Vyas was asked to proceed on leave till the probe was over.

The school has dismissed one of the two drivers accused by the girls and the supervisor. The other driver has been absconding since Thursday when the parents turned up in school for the first time.
