Model mom Aditi Govitikar tells Sujata Assomull that she's all set to make her Bollywood debutAny plans to go back to medicine?"Yes. At the moment, I have a lot of modelling work on hand and I have my baby. I can't be fair to all of them. But once my daughter, Kiara, grows up and my modelling slows down, I am sure I will go back to medicine."For a mother of a one-year-old, Aditi looks quite in shape. How did she manage to lose all that weight after the baby?Aditi was very lucky. She came back to modelling last September, just four months after Kiara was born. "Some of it is just genetics. But I did watch my diet and took up aerobics. I guess being a doctor helped too, I knew what to eat and when."How has the response to her comeback been?"Great," Aditi sums up. She has done several ad-film campaigns and last year walked down the ramp for nearly every show. She was even on the cover of Elle while she was pregnant. What aspects of modelling does Aditi enjoy the most?"Ads I think, because you are the only one and you become the cynosure of all eyes. Money is good too. But I do enjoy the ramp - it's good regular work and you get to interact with many people."We have heard she is turning to films now! That's right, she has already acted in a South Indian film and now has completed one schedule for a Hindi film, drawing remarks like "is that her cup of tea?" But facts are facts. So, she is starring opposite Arbaaz Khan and Sanjay Kapoor in a film called Soch. "I am really enjoying the experience."Has had to dance yet?"No, not yet, I didn't have to dance around trees for my South Indian film and we have not done any dances yet for Soch." But that doesn't mean she has qualms about either. "I think it would be fun to dance to a Bollywood number."Why does she think so many models are turning to Bollywood?"There is much more money and the reach is much more. It's another career option," she says matter-of-factly. Side by side, her modelling will go on, too. "It's not like I am suddenly going to stop modelling."Has she ever felt that being married has worked against her?"Not at all. Look at Hollywood. Most of their leading ladies are married. It should not matter if an actress or a model is married."Coming to the personal front, what are Aditi's hobbies?"Reading and shopping." And she loves to shop for clothes, with her favourites designers being "for Indian wear, Manish Malhotra and for western, Shahab Durazi." Aditi says she does buy much designer wear, though she finds them unaffordable. "My wedding outfit was made by Manish."Talking about her wedding, it was a rather low-key affair!"I wanted it to be like that. It was in Pune and just a few close friends and family attended. I think one's personal life should remain personal. And she had her first child very soon after her marriage. So does she want more children?"Yes, but not for another six years or so. Both my husband and I need to concentrate on our careers at the moment." For now, Kiara keeps them busy.Would she like her daughter to be a model?"Well, that's up to her. She will make her own decisions." Perhaps, both mom and daughter could appear in ads together?"I wouldn't like Kiara to do child modelling. I think they lose their innocence too soon if they enter modelling as children. I would rather have my child concentrate on studies."
