With six persons dead and nearly 14 injured on the Barwala Ramgarh National Highway-73 in October this year, the stretch is fast turning into a killer zone. It was as recent as Monday night when two persons died and one was seriously injured on the stretch.“The number of accidents on this stretch has suddenly increased . With a number of blind turns and narrow stretch, most of the accidents that have taken place have proven fatal,” said a police officer on condition of anonymity. The officer conceded that despite pressing traffic police officials on duty, it has been of little help as the topography of the area makes it accident prone.Talking to Newsline, a senior official with the Haryana PWD (B and R), said, “We do have plans to widen the stretch so that the narrow highway could be less accident prone.
