Mumbai, November 8: Academy of Self Defence (ASD), a charitable trust formed by a group of members having a mission to promote sports in the field of karate and self-defence would organise an international karate seminar to be held at the Andheri Sports Complex, Andheri (West) on November 10, 11 & 12.
The main organisers of this seminar are Sensei Sharif Bapu (technical director & Chairman) and Sempai Jaspreet Singh Chandhok (general secretary).
The three day karate seminar will be conducted by Sensei Leo Lepensky of UK (7th degree black belt — Gojuryu Karate-do Seiwakai, Japan), Sensei Vassie Naidoo of USA (5th degree black belt — Gojuryu Karate-do Seiwakai, Japan).
Arun Dev, deputy Mayor of Mumbai will be the chief guest of the seminar which will also be graced by Sensei Pervez Mistry, technical director of All-India Karate Federation who will preside over the seminar and principal Ajay Kaul, chairman of Mohalla Committee DN Nagar who will be Guest of Honour of the Seminar. Ashok Khupsure — Sr Inspector of Police, DN Nagar will also grace the occasion.
ASD was started in the year 1990 with 15 students and today the organisation has strength of more than 3000 students.
