A new body to promote sports in the offing

PUNE, March 22: In order to promote sports and create a suitable environment to nurture it in the city, an enthusiastic group of sports personalities and like-minded individuals have come together to form a non-political sports organisation.

The main objectives of this organisation would be to hold competitions and tournaments of a National standard which would provide good exposure to the local players. The organisation would also help in the identification of deserving sportsmen and sportswomen and give them the required support and enable them to participate in tournaments outside the city.

The organisation will also be conducting coaching camps and inter-school tournaments as well as invite national and international players for the coaching, besides honouring the medal winners and prominent sports personalities.

Anup Jalota, famous bhajan singer will also be playing an important part in the organisation.
