8-yr-old waits in vain for Vaghela

Eight-year-old Rohit has a serious brain injury and is in ICU. However, on Monday his MP, Union Textiles Minister Shankersinh Vaghela, came up to metres of where he lies and walked away. For, while the ICU is on the second floor, Vaghela only made a round of the first floor. The son of a farm labourer in Aapbhel Raghavjina Muwada, Rohit is the only brother of five sisters. Rohit and his cousin sister were playing on a ramp of the trauma unit when the blast happened. His cousin Nisha also sustained injuries, though she is not serious. Whether Vaghela’s visit would have made a difference or not nobody knows, but on a day when Congress president Sonia Gandhi was promising personal help to a boy from her Rae Bareli constituency in the same hospital, Rohit’s distraught father Mathuradas couldn’t help wondering.
