Five persons were injured in an explosion below a flyover under construction in in the busy Athgaon area of Guwahati this evening, triggering a stampede in which three more were wounded, police said. City SP Hiren Nath said five persons were injured in the explosion while three others were hurt in the stampede that followed. He added that initial investigations did not point to the involvement of militants.
