ITANAGAR, OCT 18: An AN MI-17 helicopter of the Indian Air force, on a ration sortie with seven crew members crashed on October 16 in a remote Hanker village in Arunachal Pradesh’s west Siang district injuring all on board, three of them seriously, official sources said today.
The sources quoting delayed reports told PTI that the helicopter had come from Roroiah Air Force base near Jorhat in Assam and had picked up ration from along, the district headquarters.
After the crash another chopper from the air base had rushed to the spot on a rescue mission, they said.
An inquiry had been ordered into the crash, the sources said quoting Defence officials.
