PANCHKULA, July 26: Nearly 520 people were vaccinated against HepatitisB virus at the vaccination camp organised in Sector 11 here today.

The vaccinations were given at subsidised rates. Free diabetes and anaemia detection tests were also carried out at the camp where nearly 200 adults and 320 children were vaccinated. “The response was overwhelming and people thronged the place in spite of the rain in the morning,” said Rishi Mahajan, the program coordinator.

The camp was organised by Department of Social Service and Survey, I. S. G. A. “Along with subsidised vaccinations, 82 blood sugar samples and 114 haemoglobin samples were also analyzed free of charge,” said Bharat Vasudeva, Medical Technical officer.

According to Dr Upasna Sharma, Health Program officer,“all WHO prescribed standards were maintained at the camp. People should give top-most priority to the quality of the vaccine and should keep a watch on those selling substandard vaccines and these too at higher rates.”

The next camp will be organised on the last Sunday of the next month.
