ROOPNAGAR, JAN 31: The job of painting white, the holy city of Anandpur Sahib near here begins tomorrow. Nearly 5,000 buildings in the city are to be painted white to later accord it the title of "white city" as part of the scheme to mark the Khalsa tercentenary year.

A team of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DSGPC) members is camping in the city for this purpose and is expected to begin the job from Charanganga and Gurdwara Sisganj Sahib.

Prominent leaders, including Delhi Akali Dal chief Avtar Singh Hit are slated to arrive here tomorrow morning. Though Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is also expected, these is no official confirmation about his visit.
