PUNE, DECEMBER 13: The toll of road accidents in the city and its rural outskirts during the last 19 days has reached 34.

Madhukar Dinkar Dhavle (35) of Guruwar Peth was killed on the spot when his M 80 dashed against a bus on Pune-Satara Road this afternoon. Police said Dhavle was taking a turn at the chowk opposite the Swayamwar marriage hall to go towards Swargate when the accident took place. The bus was heading towards Swargate from Katraj. Bus driver Baburao More has been detained by the Swargate police.

The driver of a Tata Sumo was killed on the spot when a truck collided head-on with his vehicle near Kanhe village on the Mumbai-Pune highway. on Thursday. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till late evening. Wadgaon Maval police is searching for the truck driver who fled after the mishap.

Bharati Govind More, a four-year-old girl from Ghodegaon, was killed on the spot when a jeep ran over her on Thursday. Police said Bharati was walking down on the road linking Bheemashankarwith Manchar along with her parents when the mishap took place.
