CHANDIGARH, January 7: A total of 51,570 candidates from Chandigarh region will be appearing for the All India Senior School Examination (Class X) and 34,770 for the All India Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII), which will commence on March 16. As many as 686 schools of the region will sponsor candidates for either the Class X examination or both.

Giving this information, joint secretary of the regional office of the board Y.P Katyal said that 286 centres will be set up for conducting the examinations.

He said the regional office would shortly be despatching the relevant information regarding the registered students. This will include the list of candidates, blank forms containing roll numbers of candidates for the purpose of indicating internal grades in the subject of work experience, physical education and art education for Class X examination and for work experience, physical and health education and general studies for Class XII examination.

The blank award lists containingroll number of candidates for supply of practical awards in Science for Class X and XII examination will also be given to these schools.

He said the regional office would send this material to the schools by the third week of January, which they are expected to send back by February 15.
