BANGALORE, FEB 10: Indian-born Jonathan's eight-year search for his original family is finally over. His search for his parents led him to Hubli where he was reunited with his family members.Last month, The Indian Express had reported on 28-year-old Jonathan's search for his roots. As a four-year-old, Ishar, Jonathan's Indian name, had gone with his father to the railway station where his father was employed. Ishar had jumped into a Bangalore-bound train. At Bangalore the police handed over the bewildered child to a orphanage where he was put up for adoption.Ishar was adopted by a Swede, Tage Brift Froshan, in 1974 and was given a new name, Jonathan. Froshan then took the boy to his country.Eight years ago, Jonathan came back to India for the first time in search of his parents but failed to locate them. But, his search failed to yield any results and he went back. He returned back to India once again, this time with a Swedish film-maker, Tove. He also took the help of the police. That probably did the trick. His mother, Marona Bi, his two sisters and brother saw the newspaper reports and approached the Hubli police. They, in turn, contacted their Bangalore counterparts, who gave Jonathan the good news.Jonathan left for Hubli on Monday and was reunited with his original family. Sadly, his father had passed away in the intervening years.
