NEW DELHI, September 17: Two employees of the Safdarjung Hospital allegedly raped a 20-year-old patient within the hospital premises. The woman was repeatedly raped for six days at a hideout near the hospital, the police claimed. The two accused have been arrested and were produced in a local court today.Anil, a suspended employee of the hospital and his accomplice Rajinder, an attendant, allegedly raped Gaureti, a resident of Mithapur village, between September 4 and 10. During the initial two days she was raped in a jhuggi located behind the hospital, and later within the premises. According to the police, Gaureti was kept drugged for all the six days in confinement and was always guarded by one of the accused. In the FIR, she has accused the two of threatening her in case she tried to escape.Gaureti, a regular patient of the hospital, visited the gynaecology department on September 4 around 10 a.m. Anil Kumar won the confidence of the victim by helping her. Anil despite being suspended a year ago in a molestation case was a regular visitor as his mother and sister were employed in the gynaecology department as sweepers.Anil, according to the FIR, later took the victim to a room where she was accosted by Rajinder. They offered Gaureti spiked alcohol on the pretext that it would cure her perennial stomach ache. She took the drink and started feeling dizzy.She stated in her FIR that since she was still in position to walk they reportedly took her into a room around 3 p.m. where she was raped by the duo. The corridor being empty, her screams went unheard.Gaureti was later taken to the JJ colony behind the hospital around 7 p.m. on the same day. She was kept there for a couple of days as Anil's wife. From the third day onwards Gaureti was shifted to the hospital in the morning and back to the jhuggi during the night. She was hid in different rooms each day, the FIR said. On September 11 Gaureti somehow managed to escape and reach her house.
