The government has admitted in a Pakistani court that 121 of the 257 ‘disappeared’ people were detained by various security agencies, who have been linked to the increasing incidents of disappearance of political activists in Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Interior Ministry admitted in the Sindh High Court (SHC) that 121 missing people were being detained by various law enforcement agencies.Taking suo motu notices of the rising number of disappearances of political activists in Balochistan, reinstated CJ Iftikhar M Chaudhry had directed issuance of notices to chief secretary and provincial police officer, where many political workers have been allegedly picked up by the intelligence agencies.
