JIND/SONEPAT, Aug 12: As many as 11 persons were killed and 20 were injured in two road mishaps in the state today.Six persons were killed and nine were injured, three of them seriously, when a jeep overturned on the Kaithal-Jind highway, near Kithana village, 30 km from Jind, today.While four persons died on the spot, two succumbed to their injuries at the Civil Hospital, Jind. According to civil surgeon P. Bhatia, five persons have been admitted to the Civil Hospital, while three have been shifted to the Medical College Hospital, Rohtak.The mishap reportedly occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle and is said to be absconding.The dead include Phula Devi of Pega village and Sanjay of Samdo village. The injured include Pali Ram of Kurar village, Ram Mehar of Samdo village, Birmati and Kirpal of Pega village, Ram Avtar of Faridabad and Ram Devi of Jind.Meanwhile, five persons were killed and 11 others were injured in a head-on collision between a Haryana Roadways bus and a matador on the Sonepat-Gohana road near Pinana village 22 km from Sonepat, today.Four persons died on the spot and the fifth succumbed to his injuries in the local Civil Hospital. All the injured persons were admitted to the Civil Hospital and two of them Naresh and Sadhu Ram were later shifted to the Medical College Hospital, Rohtak.The Haryana Roadways bus was on its way to Gohana from Sonepat.The victims have been identified as Dharamvir 25, Dalip Singh 25, Suraj Bhan 25, all residents of Lath village, Satish of Pinana village and Ram Bhaj of Bidhal village.
