Ten power projects with a combined generating capacity of 9,732 mw with an investment of over Rs 36,000 crore are expected to achieve financial closure by June this year. This was revealed by Union power secretry RV Shahi, who reviewed the status of these projects on April 26.The list of projects includes Dadri combined cycle power project by Reliance EGen Limited (June 2004), Torangallu expansion by Jindal Thermal Power Co in Karnataka (May 31, 2004-financial closure to be achieved), Mangalore thermal by Nagarjuna Power Corporation Ltd in Karnataka (May 2004), Akhakhol combined cycle gas turbine by Torrent Power Generation Ltd in Gujarat (May 15, 2004), Raigargh by Jindal Power Ltd in Madhya Pradesh (May 7, 2004), Pathadi thermal power by Lanco Amarkantak Power Pvt Ltd in Chhatisgarh (May 2004), Malana -II hydro electric power by Everest Power in Himachal Pradesh (April end), Karcham Wangtoo hydro electric project by Jaypee Karcham Hydro Corporation Ltd, Rosa thermal power project by Indo Gulf Fertilisers and Vadinar project by Essar Energy Jamnnagar Ltd (as early as possible).
