1 killed, 4 injured in stampede in UP

One person was killed and four people were injured in a minor stampede at the Dusherra mela in Banthara police station area, on the outskirts of the city, here last night.

The cracker fired after the burning of Ravan fell on a heap of other crackers kept nearby, triggering the stampede as people fell over each other to rush out.

The incident left five people injured , police sources here said adding one of the injured succumbed later.
