NMUMBAI, November 21: After last afternoon’s case of stabbing of an undertrial, a Gawli aide Rajaram Bhoir by a rival Dawood Ibrahim man Feroz Kokani, outside the Sessions Court, the Colaba police today arrested Naseer Hussain Noor Mohammad Choudhary alias Naseer Murgi (25) for supplying the weapon — a razor — used for the purpose, to his colleague Kokani.
Kokani stabbed Bhoir with a razor in the knee outside Sessions Court No 24 when the two undertrials were being moved out of their respective courts after hearing. As the two crossed paths, Kokani attacked Bhoir on the head, as a result of which the latter fell down. Kokani then slashed him on the knee.
The police said Naseer, who has a large number of criminal cases against him and is currently on bail, gave Kokani the razor on the third floor of the Sessions Court itself. A case (407/97) under sections 324 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against Naseer by the Colaba police.
Further investigations are in progress. He was produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of the 37th court who remanded him to police custody till November 26, 1997.
Meanwhile, a police sub-inspector and four constables attached to the Light Arms (LA) 2 who were accompanying Kokani to the Sessions Court have been suspended on charges of negligence while performing duty. PSI Hukumgir Gosavi, Constables Vishnu Shanker, Urmoza Gorakh Navle, Balchandra Rama Reda and Amrut Dasrath Dohe were suspended following a preliminary inquiry .
