Two kids die,three serious after consuming sliced melons

A brother-duo died and three other children fell ill after they allegedly consumed contaminated watermelons in Jhabua district,police said today.

A brother-duo died and three other children fell ill after they allegedly consumed contaminated watermelons in Jhabua district,police said today.

The children had purchased the fruits,which were sliced and kept in open,from a vendor at Mati village and after eating them they complained of vomiting and dysentery,following which they were taken to Ranapur Primary Health Centre from they were referred to the district hospital here.

Seven-year-old Vijay died on way to Jhabua,while his five-year-old brother Ajay died during treatment,police said.

Three children identified as Puja,Laxmi and Sanjay were “serious” and are undergoing treatment at the district hospital,they said.
