Mexico gets an Asian makeover at Mamagoto
Tah-Koh at Mamagoto: Mexico says hello to Asia in a fun food festival at Mamagoto, the Pan Asian restaurant. The much-loved Mexican tacos get an Asian makeover – so get ready for a of soft-shelled tacos that come with fillings inspired by the Orient. So go ‘Porky’ with a soft-shelled taco with a stuffing of pork belly with plum sauce, green apple and micro greens. ‘Smoky’ has crispy smoked chicken with green chilli mayo, goat cheese and salsa while Ducky has crispy duck with plum sauce, cucumber and spring onions. You also have Prawny which is a panko encrusted fried prawn and Craby, a soft shell crispy crab both served with chilli mayo, pickles, Japanese barbecue sauce and spring onions. There are several vegetarian options as well.

Sample the food of Isan at The Oberoi
Isan is the northeastern region of Thailand, bordering Laos and Cambodia, and culinary traditions of the region is a melting pot of three countries. Chef Tam, who hails from Isan, is celebrating the flavours of the region – the primary tastes being sweet, salty and sour accompanied by a generous use of freshly ground/powdered dry spices and fresh herbs. Begin your meal with a traditional Thai soup with tamarind and fish or vegetables, or dive straight into the signature salads of the region like Sup mhak mi (Spicy and sour raw jackfruit salad, Rs 650), Tum mhakhoong (Green papaya, tomatoes, peanuts with fresh lime juice and dry shrimps, Rs 785) and Lab Ped (spicy roast duck salad with Thai herbs, Rs 1100). Leave some room for the mains like Meekarti Moo (stir fried rice noodles with tomato and coconut sauce, Rs 575+), KaengGoum Gai (Spicy Thai clear curry with herbs and chicken, Rs 1275) and Kaeng Curry jeu (Yellow curry with chicken, lamb or tenderloin, Rs 1275+).

Summer flavours at Foodhall
Foodhall is has launched ‘The Taste of Summer’ – a festival dedicated to the various flavours and tastes of summer recipes. Foodhall’s demo counter will also have a live Gazpacho station, with cold soups like Cucumber and celery gazpacho and Classic gazpacho as well as other summer coolers like Kokum and chia cooler and Jalapeño lemonade. There is also a DIY Sundae Station, desserts like Mango charlotte and Mango macaroon and yogurt parfaits.

If you’re in the mood for a quick but nutritious breakfast, try the ‘Breakfast in a bottle’ – like Almond, flax seed and banana where the beverage inside the bottle is a meal in itself. Nutrition is the focus with salads as well, with options like purple corn and kale salad and zucchini carrot & beetroot salad.

Mango mania at SBOW
SodaBottleOpenerWala is going all out with mangoes. Their Keri no Samosa is a fried pastry with a mango and nut filling served with vanilla ice-cream. Other highlights of the summer-specific menu are Mango Ravo, a mango-flavoured semolina pudding and the Mango Shrikhand Cheesecake.

If you’re going to be visiting lifestyle store Le Mill this weekend, you can sample Kunali Chandaria-Dattoobhai artisanal ice-creamery Sucres Des Terres’s many delights. SDT’s pop-up at the store has scoops of Caramel A-Salt, Chocolate Chocolate Macaron, Oh My! (dark chocolate and macaron); Sweet Heart Lemon Tart (lemon sherbet); and Espresso Croquant (espresso and chocolate croquant). You can also pick up ice-cream jars in case you are feeling greedy.
