This year, models will showcase 58 collections created by the students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali, during its annual function to be held at Tagore Theatre on Monday.
Anukama, the annual fashion show of NIIFT, is a platform for the students of the fashion design department to showcase their creativity.
More than 30 models will walk the ramp in the creations by the students, adding the glam quotient to the show. Some of the models to take the stage are Amanpreet Wahi, Himani Thapa, Kajal Srivastava and Miss India & Miss Tourism Rashmi. The show will be directed by fashion director Kaushik Ghosh.

An eminent jury comprising fashion apparel and textile experts were invited to evaluate the collections of the students. “We are excited to offer this event again this year. India has a pool of young talent waiting to be tapped,” said Inderjit Singh, director, NIIFT.
Dr Poonam Aggarwal, deputy registrar, NIIFT, said the developed collections are evident of the fact that fashion designers need to conceptualise and develop need-based, quick business focused design solutions that can be easily developed. “This means leveraging new technologies to deliver contemporary up market fashion,” she said.
