‘CET yet to be conducted, 3 members appointed in NRA’: Govt tells Lok Sabha

The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is in the final stages of designing the conduct of computer based Common Eligibility Test (CET), Jitendra Singh told the Lok Sabha. The Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions was answering a query raised by Ram Nath Thakur, a Member of Parliament.

Thakur had asked the government for updates about the levels for which recruitments have been conducted by NRA so far, the details of the officers posted in it, and the number of candidates received appointment letters, so far, through the recruitment conducted by the Agency.

Answering this question, Singh explained that CET will be conducted “based on detailed analytical study of different examination systems in the country and considering the scale and scope of the mandate”. He also added that the “NRA currently is in the final stage of scope and design for conduct of computer based Common Eligibility Test (CET). ”

Due to this, “CET is yet to be conducted,” he clarified.

Singh also reported that at present, besides Chairman, three officers, viz. Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination, One Director and one Deputy Secretary level Officers have been appointed in NRA (HQ).

The Common Eligibility Test will be conducted by the National Recruitment Agency for recruiting aspirants for the post of various non-gazetted Group B and C posts.
