Visuals of the sanctum sanctorum in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple were released late Wednesday evening, wherein the idol of Ram Lalla will be placed. The pran pratishtha (consecration) ceremony is scheduled to be held on January 22.

The new stone idol has been taken to the Ram Temple premises in a closed truck mounted on a crane as it weighs around 150-200 kg. It would be seated in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday.

Leading up to the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting temples with some connection to Lord Ram during his official visits to states. In the past week, the PM has visited Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala to unveil developmental projects or to carry out party activities, with a loud message on Lord Ram.

Majority of the Opposition leaders are set to skip the consecration ceremony, with AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar adding to the list and announcing their absence at the event today.
