Want to replicate best practices for AP development: Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said his state is not competing with Telangana or any other state in the country but only with internationally reputed cities on development front. “I am not competing with Indian states, I want to make Andhra Pradesh, the best in the world by replicating the best practices available throughout the world,” Naidu said.

He also said that both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have to depend on each other for economic reasons. “We have a port in Vizag which Telangana needs and we need access to Hyderabad for various purposes. Both have to move forward for betterment,” he added.

Speaking to PTI on the sidelines of HT Leadership Summit the chief minister spoke about his meeting with cricketer-cum-MP Sachin Tendulkar who adopted Puttamraju Kandriga Village in AP under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. “He(Sachin) is very happy and has done a good work in the village and I appreciate him for it. Now he is going to concentrate on next level of development. I have offered him all the things needed for the purpose.”

Naidu, while inviting investors to his state, explained about the ‘ease of doing business’ in his state. “Andhra has best infrastructure, long coastline and power surplus apart from rich minerals available for doing business,” he said.

Having pooled around 33,000 acres of land for the construction of capital city Amaravathi, Naidu assured to return around 25 to 30 per cent of pooled land either as
residential or commercial property after development.

Besides he also revealed that an index to measure happiness of the people of Andhra Pradesh is also underway. “Consciously I want to build better health, physical literacy and discipline by measuring happiness. Stress is a biggest problem for everyone,” he added.
