Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, Vande Bharat Sleeper train trial run: The second rake of Vande Bharat Sleeper train achieved a speed of 180 kmph during its trial run in the Kota Division. Developed by BEML using ICF technology, this new semi-high-speed train is designed to cover longer routes. The trial run is being carried out by the Test Directorate team of the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO).
The Kota Division falls under the administrative control of West Central Railway (WCR) zone. The Vande Bharat Sleeper train is equipped with modified coaches of the latest design, which provide greater stability and comfort even at high speeds.

The RDSO will carry out the high-speed trial of the Vande Bharat Sleeper train’s second rake till November 17. The trial began on November 2. Earlier, the train underwent testing on the Mahoba–Khajuraho section.

Currently, the 16-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper train’s second rake is being tested on the Sawai Madhopur–Kota–Nagda section.
By running the train at a maximum speed of 180 kmph, the RDSO is checking its technical efficiency, braking capability, stability, vibration, and reliability of the mechanical and electrical systems.

The trial run of Vande Bharat Sleeper train’s second rake have been conducted under conditions similar to actual passenger loads. The rake was operated in a fully loaded condition, with 108 tons of additional load (in the form of canisters filled with 50 kg of iron dust each) added to the 800 tons of rake weight.
Thus, the train was operated with a total load of 908 tons, testing it in real operational conditions.

A Long Confirmatory Run (LCR) was successfully completed for 50 km between Rohalkhurd-Laban stations at a speed of 180 kmph. In addition, important technical tests such as oscillation tests and wet track emergency braking tests were also conducted, aimed at ensuring the stability and safety of the train at high speeds, the railways said.
