500 spiritual leaders attend Global Spirituality Mahotsav

The spirituality summit, held from March 14 to 17, hosted 500 of the most prominent heads of spiritual organisations from all faiths and schools of belief from around the world.

The Ministry of Culture in association with the non-profit organisation Heartfulness recently hosted a four-day Global Spirituality Mahotsav at Kanha Shanti Vanam near Hyderabad.

The spirituality summit, held from March 14 to 17, hosted 500 of the most prominent heads of spiritual organisations from all faiths and schools of belief from around the world. With “Inner Peace to World Peace” as its theme, the spiritual congregation was attended by close to 1,00,000 people. It was aimed at promoting interfaith dialogues and helping people of all ages and walks of life to connect with spirituality in their daily lives.

In her speech, President Droupadi Murmu, who inaugurated the meet, said the Global Spirituality Mahotsav will take humanity towards spirituality. “Today, great spiritual leaders and lakhs of people have joined together to bring harmony, irrespective of different belief systems. I congratulate Rev Daaji (Guide of Heartfulness & President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission) for taking the Heartfulness movement to 160 countries across the world. This is a very sacred cause. I am very pleased that The Ministry of Culture and Heartfulness have brought this Global Spiritual Mahotsav themed Inner peace to world peace.”

Key participants at the summit included Shri Chinna Jeeyar Swami, Shri Vaisnavism Guru; motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das; Mark Milton of Education4Peace; Pir Zia Inayat Khan of the Inayati Order; Harjinder Singh Dhami of SGPC; Rev. Anthony Poola, Archbishop of Hyderabad; Dr Jayanti S. Ravi of the Auroville Foundation; Ven Geshe Dorji of the Tibet House; actor Kabir Bedi; and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.
