Congress shared Smriti Irani's missing poster. (Photo: Twitter@Congress) In a retort to Congress’s dig at her with a “missing” poster, Union Minister Smirti Irani Wednesday asked the grand old party to contact the United States if they are looking for their ex-MP.
Taking a jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who had previously represented Amethi in the Lok Sabha, over his six-day US tour, Irani retweeted the Congress with a quote in Hindi: “O divine political creature, I have just left Sirsira village, Vidhan Sabha Salon, Lok Sabha Amethi, towards Dhuranpur. If you’re looking for former MP, please contact the US.” Gandhi, a former Wayanad MP, was disqualified from the Lok Sabha after a Surat court convicted him in a criminal defamation for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surname.
https://t.co/2rEUKLPCK8

Earlier in the day, the Congress had taken a veiled jibe at Women and Child Development Minister for her silence on the wrestlers’ protest by sharing a poster of Irani with “missing” written on the top. The wrestlers have been holding a protest against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) demanding the arrest of its chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, on the grounds of sexual harassment of female athletes, including a minor.
In another tweet, the Congress posted a collage of Irani and fellow BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi’s pictures. The text below Irani’s picture read “one hides the tweets”, while caption of Lekhi’s picture said “one who runs”.
