Trout fish rearing unit set up in Dachigam National Park

The unit provides additional space for the rearing of one lakh seeds of the trout fish.

To promote pisciculture in Jammu and Kashmir,an indoor trout fish rearing unit with one lakh seed capacity has been set up in Dachigam National Park by the Fisheries Department,an official spokesman said.

The unit was inaugurated by Commissioner Secretary of Fisheries Department Shant Manu here on Monday,the spokesman added.

He said,the unit has been completed within a record period of one month by the engineering wing of the Fisheries Department.

The unit provides additional space for the rearing of one lakh seeds of the trout fish,the spokesman said.

The fisheries department last year introduced trout culture in the private sector and 30 units were set up during last financial year and 90 units are under execution this fiscal.
