Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir has left “very good” impact on the political situation in the state,state Congress chief Saifuddin Soz said.
“The recent visit of Rahul Gandhi to the state has left very good impact on the political situation of Jammu and Kashmir,particularly functioning of the Congress party,” Soz said at a public meeting at Hiranagar belt of Kathua district.
He assured the people that their demands like solving refugee problems,declaring of Hiranagar as modern railway station and removing difficulties in the implementation of Roshni Act would be solved.
He promised that Congress would fight and get the provisions of 73rd Amendment to the Constitution (financial and decision making powers to Pachayats) accepted by the coalition government.
Minister for Revenue,Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said problems of refugees in Jammu are being looked into properly.
He also accepted the suggestion of PCC President to constitute a committee to go into the proper implementation of the Jammu and Kashmir State Lands (Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act – popularly known as Roshni Act.
